A bit about me
During my three years studying at the University of Akron and Kent State (1989-1992), I faced my own hospitalization and recovery (from bulimia/anorexia/alcohol/depression). It was an excruciating journey. Finding recovery took courage and humility. It was a terrifying time. More than once I ended up in the hospital and came very close to dying. With much support, therapy, and the willingness to learn, I began to heal. I soon learned that real recovery was a gradual process and not an instant change. I was ready to do anything to find hope and life again. And though it did take time, I can honestly say that my life has consistently and significantly improved with each passing year ever since!
Building a Path of Growth and Service
A couple years after finding my footing and beginning my own healing I began serving others as a Life Coach in 1993. Although the clients I had early on were receiving great results I still knew I needed to continue growing and learning. I wanted to be better equipped and able to offer as much help and support as possible. From 1994-1997 I completed classes at an international college in the south. After completing those studies I was hired full time at the school and thrilled to work there for five years, learning so much more along the way and still Life Coaching, as well.
Where Humanity Meets
I've served individuals, couples, families, (ages 19-75), teens, and children, on the east coast - west coast - and the midwest. What I've found through these thirty two years is that Mother Teresa was right. Some of the greatest poverty and starvation in the world is really in the United States....where too many are starving to be loved, heard, and accepted. From the many cultures, ages, backgrounds, educations, and beliefs my clients have come - I see clearly that we are all on the same common ground of being human. We all have a legitimate need to be loved, heard, and accepted.
Real Healing for Lasting Change
Whether my coaching clients are looking for relationship mending, personal growth, freedom from addictions, career or identity clarity - all of those areas still grow out of the same core places within. Some of my clients had been to numerous hospitals or treatment centers before coming to me, and had been given up on by their doctors. One of my strengths has been locating exactly what the real blockages are. And providing the wisdom and tools to heal and move beyond them - helping my clients find a more authentic, balanced, peace filled level of life in all areas. I can't do the work for you. But, I'm thrilled to walk beside you and support you all the way, friend!
